About Laia Bové
Accessible Yoga & Meditation Teacher
Welcome
I’m Laia Bové, an Afro-Catalan yoga and meditation educator, writer, professional figure skater, and multidisciplinary artist.
My work lives at the intersection of accessibility, creativity, and slow living.
While guiding accessible yoga classes, coaching athletes, performing, writing essays, or writing, my mission is the same: to create spaces where people can pause, reconnect, and thrive.
Yoga & Meditation
I am an accessible and inclusive yoga and meditation teacher (E-RYT 500, YACEP with Yoga Alliance) with training in hatha, vinyasa, restorative, trauma-informed yoga, and somatic practices.
My classes, workshops, and retreats center accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity, and I’ve shared them across Europe, the US, and online.
I’ve collaborated with platforms and organizations including YogaEasy (formerly Ekhart Yoga), Yogajala, Insight Timer, Hubspot, Spotify, 3Cat, and CanFit Pro.
As a high-performance yoga coach, I design tailored yoga programs for Olympic, Paralympic, and adaptive athletes — supporting recovery, injury prevention, and balance throughout their seasons.

Slow Productivity & Creativity
I believe creativity flourishes when we slow down. Through my Substack, The Pause, I share tools for slow productivity, mindfulness, and creative living, weaving together yoga, meditation, journaling, and writing to support sustainable creativity.
I’ve also taught on burnout, balance, and creative energy for organizations and retreats such as Roots.Wounds.Words, EmpowHERment Spain, côpe, Kimball Electronics, and AfroYoga by Angie.

Writing
I write in Catalan, English, and Spanish, publishing essays and creative nonfiction on wellness, identity, and creative living.
I’ve worked as a senior writer for Yogajala and as a staff teacher & writer for Ekhart Yoga (now YogaEasy).
My debut fiction novel, Saber tornar published in Catalan by Penguin Random House / La Campana, in October 2025.
Skating
Before stepping fully into yoga, I was a professional figure skater, performing internationally from 2007–2012.
From 2012 to 2023, I coached recreational and elite athletes in Spain and the US, emphasizing diversity, accessibility, and artistry in skating — specializing in jumps, spins, choreography, and Theatre on Ice. I am also a National Technical Specialist.
Today, although I’ve retired from coaching, I return to the ice each year through residencies and productions with Brownbody, a Minnesota-based skating and dance company focused on Black liberation through movement and artistry.

Through yoga, writing, or skating, my work is about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to live with balance and creativity.
✨ I’d love to stay connected.
