MY STORY

I was born in Barcelona, Spain to a 14 year-old girl who made the difficult decision of giving me up for adoption, and I landed in the most loving and giving family who raised me to be the strong woman that I am today.

Growing up as  a bi-racial, dark-skinned, curly-haired girl in a white community often made me feel a bit out of place, but encouraged by my parents, I used it to fuel my passion for unique things that fed my soul; like figure skating.

After competing for my country nationally and internationally, I decided to embark on the adventure of touring the world as a figure skater for companies like Holiday on Ice and Disney on Ice. It opened my eyes and my heart to different cultures and ways of living, and it also exposed me to yoga for the first time.

I began to practice and study yoga while continuing to skate for a living, but it wasn't until I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at the age of 26 that I realized that not only did I need to slow down, but that yoga and meditation needed to be a crucial part of my life.

After getting off the road, I began to coach figure skating as well as study yoga with  E-RYT500 Nichi Green. With her guidance, I began to implement yoga for my athletes in their off-ice training, and I realized even more of its undeniable benefits for body and mind.

In 2016, I graduated with my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) under the mentorship of yoga teacher extraordinaire Claire Santos (E-RYT500), in Miami, FL, and I immediately began to branch out by teaching at several studios and gyms.

During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, I decided to embark yet in another 200h Teacher Training with Claire Santos, this time focusing on trauma informed yoga and resilience.

I am currently an E-RYT200 yoga teacher as well as Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) and teach regular classes in the Tampa Bay area in several studios as well as private classes, workshops, masterclasses, yoga for adaptive athletes, and yoga for elite and Olympic athletes.

Due to the incessant need of wanting to learn and grow, I am currently under mentorship of Netherlands-based yoga teacher and ayurveda practitioner Irina Verwer, with which whom I am continuing to expand my knowledge and my depth in the path of yoga.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Yoga has had and continues to have a great impact in my life, and my intention is to share yoga and its benefits with as many people as possible.

Yoga is a way of life, it is a revolution for the body, mind, and soul, and it has changed me deeply. It is an honour to be able to lead people through a practice that can potentially open their hearts and minds to the possibilities and to something greater than themselves.

My intention when teaching yoga is to help people of all backgrounds, physical abilities and people of all shapes and colours to find their own truth, their own path, and their own way to happiness.
